BEGINNINGS

The story of Mayer Winery began on the southern slopes of the Villány wine region, when the family’s grandparents purchased their first vineyards in the renowned Kopár vineyard. In the early years, cultivation took place on only a few hectares as a traditional family estate, where grape growing and winemaking formed an integral part of everyday life.

Over the years, the original vineyards gradually expanded, and today the estate has grown into an approximately ten-hectare winery located in some of Villány’s most distinguished vineyard sites. From the very beginning, the philosophy of Mayer Winery has been rooted in respect for terroir and a strong commitment to high-quality viticulture. Its wines reflect a harmonious balance between traditional Villány character and a modern approach to winemaking.
